Keywords
One of the most popular tricks in Adsensing is keywords. If you don't know yet, one of Adsense secret is that not all keywords are created equals. If you have an Adsense account, you will notice that you are paid differently for a different clicks. Why?
Because, every advertisement have their cost which is paid by the advertiser. Google make it a point to share with you a certain undisclosed percentage of that fee with you. Therefore, the higher the price that the advertiser quote for the keyword, the higher you will get for each clicks generated from your site.
An experience Adsenser group these keywords into three groups. Low paying keyword which pays you something from USD0.01 to USD0.50. The medium paying keywords are the one that gives you USD0.50 to USD5.00 per click. Any keyword that pays more than USD5.00 per click is considered high paying.
High Paying Keywords
The most popular of the touted high paying keyword is mesothelioma and it's variant. The word was once quoted to be worth more than USD50.00 per click. This claim hasn't been verified though but a lot of people swear by it. Other popular high paying keywords are Lexington Law, Loan and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
There are a lot of opportunist who went to the extent of selling these keywords. Some are freely distributed by people who happens to buy the keyword.
Those keyword are usually searched in the adword comparisan engine. One of the most popular is Overture. However, some senior adsensers claims that the Overture adwords list are not accurate because Overture actually meant for Yahoo instead of Google.
Google Smart-Pricing
The unscrupulous usage of high paying keywords is one of the reason for Google to introduce smart pricing. Smart pricing is a concept whereby any website that does not generate a sale will be downgraded. Downgraded is in the sense of price per click for that particular account will be lowered. Therefore, if you are only developing websites with high paying keyword but no meaningful content and purpose, you will definitely be penalised by smart pricing.
Most senior Adsenser advised against the building a website specially made for high paying keyword. They generally advised that using a mid paying keywords. Mid paying keyword is much easier to use because they are in abundance and most of them are usually a non specific words. Therefore, the chances of you hitting a mid-paying keyword is much higher.
If you just want to start your first Adsense website, my advice is, don't bother about the high paying keyword just yet. Just build a website that you think is suitable for you and try to drive as much traffic to it. Because traffic are the one that will generate clicks for you, not the keywords.
